Tu kaha tha?

Just yesterday, I was listening to a wonderful composition by my dear friend Ashwin on Mumbai Terror Attacks, and I was very much moved. Yet again. The tune, Meghana's voice, and the video, all together swung me back to those horrific moments, those moments which shouted, " Are we so helpless ?"  

In such tragic times,  a pinching thought erupts within. God, the Almighty, the omnipotent and omniscient entity that he is; where is his prescence in all this ? If he is the creator, the care taker and manager of all the laws of the nature, then how does one justify this calamity where innocent people were caught unaware by death ? If we go with all faith in him, then this leads to the conclusion that nothing in this world is governed and all takes place randomly. If you happen to be among the disrupting random winds then its your bad fortune. But, then what role does Almighty play? 

A small verse which attempts to eject the feelings within me...

Masum Zindagi ko, 

Raundate chale gaye...

Khun se wo hamari, 

Hame bhingote chale gaye..

Ye dil poochta hai, ye dil sochta hai...

Jab lahu chalak raha tha,

Tab tu kaha tha?

Us Maa ke haathon se, 

Jab lalla choot raha tha..

Himmat Jab toot rahi thi, 

Par Sapna Gunj raha tha..

Jab bachpan wo bilakh raha tha,

Tab tu kaha tha?

Shayad dor zindagi ki,

Khuli padi hai Aaj..

Shayad keemat ik Jaan ki,

Giri hui hai Aaj...

Kehte firte the ham kabhi,

Ki tere karam se hum hai..

Lagta hai is bharose ki bhi,

Bali hui hai Aaj...

I never doubt your Existence, only that sometimes, I miss your prescence !
